A HEART FULL OF LOVE
Loyal, a Labrador mix, was believed to be a 2-year-old stray from East L.A. He was captured and about to be put down before being rescused by ARRF.
On November 2000, Greg and Nate found Loyal on the ARRF’s website. They drove to Fontana, CA to meet him at a dog hotel and it was love at first sight. Loyal went home with them and became Loyal Leonardo (after Da Vinci for his intelligence) or Leo for short.
For 9 years, Leo had brought so much love and joy to Greg’s and Nate’s lives. Together they enjoyed hiking and going to a dog beach.
THE MEMORIES OF HIS LIFE
Leo was first diagnosed with Insulinoma in 2007. He beat the odds and outlived it for almost two years.
On the twenty first of July 2009, Leo underwent Chemotherapy for Lymphoma. During this time, he went to Huntington Beach, CA occassionally but never once missed his evening walks until the last week of his life.
At nine twenty O’Clock on the twentieth day of November two thousand and nine, Loyal Leonardo had lost his battle with Cancer and passed away peacefully in Greg’s and Nate’s arms. May he rest in peace.
